Azusa Pacific Baseball Unveils 2026 Schedule with Bold Start and Gritty Challenges
Azusa, California — Azusa Pacific University has formally released its 2026 baseball schedule, outlining a demanding campaign that kicks off in late January and concludes with the Pacific West Conference Tournament in May. The slate blends local rivalries, important conference home stands at the Cougar Baseball Complex, and high-profile road tests in Hawaii and Utah, offering a well-rounded test of the Cougars’ depth and resilience.
The season opens on Friday, January 30, with a split series against nearby rival Cal Poly Pomona. The opener takes place in Pomona, followed by the home debut on Saturday, January 31, featuring a doubleheader at the Cougar Baseball Complex.
After the opening weekend, APU welcomes Northwest Nazarene for a two-game set on Tuesday, February 3, then hits the road for a three-game series at Cal State Monterey Bay from February 5–7. A Southern California homestand follows in mid-February, featuring a four-game split against Westmont, with a February 13 game in Santa Barbara and a February 14 doubleheader back in Azusa.
PacWest play arrives quickly with a four-game home series against Fresno Pacific from February 19–21. The Cougars then embark on their longest road swing of the season, an eight-game trip to Hawaii. They start with a series against Chaminade in Honolulu from February 28 to March 2, immediately followed by a four-game set against Hawaii Pacific from March 5–7.
Returning to the mainland, the schedule showcases a substantial homestand in mid-March, beginning with a four-game series versus Hawaii Hilo (March 14–16) and concluding with a four-game set against Jessup (March 27–28). In between, the longtime crosstown rivalries continue with a San Diego doubleheader against Point Loma on March 20 and a home twin bill against the Sea Lions on March 21 in Azusa.
April intensifies the race to the finish as the regular season winds down. The month opens with a split series against Biola (April 3–4) and a midweek tilt with Vanguard. A marquee trip lands in St. George, Utah, where the Cougars will take on Division I Utah Tech in a four-game series from April 10–12.
The regular season concludes with a split set against Concordia Irvine (April 17–18) and a final road swing to Atherton for games against Menlo (April 24–25).
Postseason Outlook The Cougars eye an extended run into May via the PacWest Conference Tournament, which is slated to begin on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in Santa Barbara, California.
