Robinson, a former MLB outfielder, brings recent playing experience to the role, having retired just two years ago. He's been swiftly climbing the coaching ladder, starting in the San Diego farm system and working his way up to the big leagues with the Giants. This is a significant step for Robinson, who now has a major league coaching role.
And here's where it gets interesting: Borg, a longtime member of the organization, has been coaching within the Giants' system for over 15 years. He even managed the Dominican Republic team at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. But this is his first time coaching at the MLB level. The rest of Vitello's staff is a mix of new faces and holdovers from the previous regime. Jayce Tingler takes on the bench coach role, while Hunter Mense and Justin Meccage will handle hitting and pitching coaching duties, respectively. Additionally, Oscar Bernard, Taira Uematsu, and Eliezer Zambrano retain their assistant coaching positions, with Alex Burg expanding his role as field coordinator while continuing to coach catchers.
